Choosing a Linen Finish
If you have been researching your options with regards to your next printing project, you will probably have found that there are a number of different finishes you can choose from for your paper. You can also choose a finish which has been applied to the paper during its production, a finish which is applied after your images and text are printed to seal the document, or both.
But here is a finish you may not have researched yet and that is a linen finish. As the name suggests, the paper is finished to resemble the same texture as linen fabric. Linen finishes are created by embossing the paper after it comes from the paper machine and provide one of the most tactile and interesting paper finishes you can choose from.
A linen finish may be a good choice for your printing project to give your document character and class. You may be printing a special invitation for your valued customers, or you may be making up a book or booklet for your customers and need a cover which will set it apart from the other documents on their desk; well a linen finish on the paper will do just that.
Linen finishes can be chosen in a variety of colours and while you may not be able to match your entire corporate colour pallet, you can choose a neutral colour to accent your printing project in a linen finish, or you can choose a colour which is a shade or two apart. You can even choose a simple white or cream colour as while the style of the linen finish is in its feel, the texture of this unique finish can still be seen and distinguished from an ordinary uncoated paper.
